New 3D render

There are many mentions in the reviews that we have a cute 2D graphics. However, we made 3D footballers and stylized them. We used simple cartoonish shadows. The folds on the shirts, glares on the faces and boots were painted directly on the textures.
Our graphics were nice but it couldn’t help us made the footballers more believable and variative. That’s why we have decided to change the stylization to more realistic.
The modern 3D engines use Physically-Based Rendering (PBR). And as we use our own engine, we had to write a renderer ourselves. It’s interesting to know that the renderer was written by our only programmer. And he perfectly coped with the task.

The example of our new render. Some parts of the boots are made from a skin, some – from a reflective material.
Now we can simulate different materials, show reflections, have smooth borders etc. It will allow us to more realistically show a skin, textile, hair, eyes…
In the update #9, you will see these changes on the footballers. In the future, we are going to use the new render to make the new stadiums.
